Old Buck Saw 28"
Blade with 27" handle. Good
condition and ready to use. This type of saw was carried on a lot
of wagons. $65.00

Of all the grub that's put out for
men to eat,
And all that includes apple pie to
rare red meat,
The cook who wins the prize is the
one who's in the know,
And at breakfast, dinner, and
supper, feeds them sourdough.
He's hunted the hills since
daylight for gold,
It's bent his back and made him
old,
But he comes in at night, his face
all aglow,
A-knowin' he's gonna get beans and
sourdough.
From "The
Complete Sourdough Cookbook"
by Don Holm
Sour Dough Keg
Two Gallon size approximately 12" tall
7 1/2" outside head diameter. Made from top quality
sap clear white oak. Plain interior,
no paraffin. $152.00
"We don't think the
old Chuck Wagon Cooks had their kegs paraffin lined but we have had
people ask if we thought the wood would impart a flavor to the Sour
Dough. We don't know for sure so if you want it Paraffin lined just
choose paraffin lined on order form and for an additional $3.00
we will line it with Paraffin."
If using the plain unlined keg the first batch of sour dough should
be thrown out. The first batch seasons the keg. Also rinse the keg
with scalding water before starting your first batch to kill any
unwelcome bugs!

a lack of slivers that characterize other fiber ropes. This
product is strong, stretch resistant and holds a knot well.

Three gallon
tin bucket. Appears to have never been used as it has the original
label. Label says "Behrens Mfg. Co." Metal craftsman since 1911, Winona,
MN. Very old as the seams are soldered. Some slight rusting on the
outside and inside bottom as shown in pictures. Be aware that soldered
tin can't be put on direct flames as it could melt the solder.

After looking at
several fire boxes we decided we didn't like any of them so we sat
down and designed our own. This is a top notch quality built fire
box. The grill is 16 inches wide by 47 inches long. It has nine
height adjustments starting at 41 inches and going down in 2 inch
increments. You can put it together or take it apart for
transporting in minutes. There is a door in each end for wood, a 12
x 12 shelf with hooks for utensils and six removable grates. Three
have expanded metal for grilling and three are just bars for setting
your dutch oven on. We can put your cattle brand, name, or whatever
you want in each side where our Bar E brand is. There is a handle
welded to both bottom plates for ease of insertion or removal. This
has to be ordered over the phone (1-800-959-5782). Allow 30 to 60
days for delivery. This is very heavy and will have to ship in
several boxes.

Tin Plate and Cup
We have found a
better quality tin cup which is made in America . This is a pint size cup. Good quality and not as
prone to rust as the other. Do not put in dishwasher. Wash and rinse
in very hot water and dry thoroughly. Store in a dry environment.
$8.00.
#TP1 9 1/2" diameter best quality tin dinner plate. Heavy tin plate,
not a pie plate
$8.00
After doing some research
it is our opinion that enamelware cups and plates were not used on
Chuck Wagons in the cattle drive days. They used tin, and the
plate we offer above is a replica of the plate used during the
Civil War days. The cattle drives started after the Civil War.
We don't recommend
washing tin in the dishwasher. They should be washed and rinsed
in very hot water and hand dried. They should also be stored
inside where the air is dryer. Remember, this is tinware and
there's a reason you don't see much very old tinware.

We make
these in our Black Smith shop. There are several variables as to
the length you need for a coffee tipper. How far off the ground
is the bar? You can always adjust this by driving your stakes
further in the ground. Are you hanging the pot over a grill, if
so how high is the grill off the ground? Are you hanging it over a
fire built on top of the ground or in a hole? We offer two
lengths, its up to you to determine which length you need. .
|
|
 |
We only
show one length in our pictures. The bottom part of the hanger
remains the same its the top part that is different. We offer an 8"
and a 10 1/2". We call them long coffee tipper or short coffee
tipper. These are great for pouring coffee as you don't have to pick
the pot up, just grab the handle, push down and pour. Of course you
have to have a handle on the bottom of your pot for these to work.
This tipper will work on a 2 1/2 gallon and up. If your pot is smaller
than that you will have to shorten the lifting rod by cutting a
piece out and welding it back together
$75.00, specify long or short
